Artist Statement:

Sweet tooth is a collection of Scanography images with a similar subject as my collection called, “Candies, Sweets and Treats.” I wanted to highlight the art of advertising and recycle materials as much as I could. Often, we forget that someone created this brand's image, furthermore, we overlook the creativity they put into it. Candy is directly advertised to children. More than often, these brands don’t go for huge makeovers. Perhaps that’s because they’ve invested so much in advertising that if they changed it, they would lose the generation of adults that feel nostalgic when they view their brand. 
Creating images on a scanner bed helped me distort the item's original presentations. I wanted the viewer to see these images and ask, “What am I looking at?” because how often do we stop to look at the packaging of buying something before just tossing it into our basket?
